Meet Our Doctors

Arthur C Elias

Dr. Elias attended Brandeis University and received his DMD degree from Harvard. He served his internship and residency at the Long Island Jewish Hospital and Queens General Hospital and received a certificate in Oral Surgery from Columbia University. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and served as an examiner for that Board. Dr. Elias performs the full scope of surgery of his specialty. He has lectured nationally and internationally on facial reconstructive surgery, orthognathic surgery, and surgery of the temporomandibular joints, as well as the everyday office procedures, such as the removal of wisdom teeth, biopsy techniques and insertion of dental implants.

Dr. Elias served as Chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Mount Sinai Hospital for ten years and, prior to that appointment as Chief of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery at the Hospital for Joint Diseases. He is currently on the attending staffs of the Mount Sinai Hospital and New York/Presbyterian Hospital. Active in the state and national Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery societies, Dr. Elias is the former President of the New York State Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, former President of the Northeast Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Editor of the NYSSOMS Newsletter. He served as the New York State Delegate to the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons for fifteen years. He has been on the Board of the New York Institute of Clinical Oral Pathology and was elected to the American College of Dentistry.

Andrew J Hauser

Dr. Hauser received his Bachelor of Science degree from St. John's College, St. John's University. He graduated with honors from Columbia University School of Dental Medicine. He served his internship and residency at the Long Island Jewish Hospital and its Queens General Hospital affiliation. Dr. Hauser is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is also a Fellow of the New York State Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Hauser is a Fellow of the American College of Dentistry, the New York Academy of Dentistry and the Academy of Osteointegration. Dr. Hauser practices the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery, including removal of third molars, diagnosis and treatment of oral pathology and orthognathic surgery. Dr. Hauser's particular interest is in dental implant surgery and bone reconstruction where he brings his expertise utilizing the most advanced techniques in order to provide the best possible outcome for implant function and esthetics. Dr. Hauser is affiliated with the New York Presbyterian Hospital where he is an Attending. He holds the title of Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at Cornell Medical College.

Richard L Elias

After receiving his undergraduate degree from Lafayette College, Dr. Richard Elias earned his DMD degree from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine and his MD degree from Harvard Medical School. He served his residency at the Massachusetts General Hospital and is well trained in the full scope of the specialty of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from insertion of dental implants to facial reconstruction to the employment of endoscopic techniques for the treatment of various traumatic injuries. Dr. Elias is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is on the attending staffs of the Mount Sinai Hospital, New York/Presbyterian Hospital, Lenox Hill Hospital and Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital. Dr. Elias has particular interest and experience in microsurgical nerve repair for the treatment of altered sensations of the nerves to the jaws and the tongue and has lectured extensively on this subject. He is a member of the Medical Advisory Board and the oral and maxillofacial surgeon of the Little Baby Face Foundation, a foundation that provides transportation, housing and free facial surgery for children born with facial deformities. His ability to correct the facial distortions of genetic growth abnormalities has resulted in remarkable functional and esthetic improvement in these youngsters and has endeared him to their families.
